M. R. Malkki is a multi-genre author from Finland whose work drifts – and occasionally stampedes – across satire, short fiction, fable, dystopia and essay. Whether the setting is a mud-soaked village, a post-apocalyptic boardroom or a surreal city square, her writing stays true to a core focus: to reveal the hilarious, haunting or quietly horrifying systems we live in.
With a background in both observation and invention, M. R. Malkki crafts stories that are often too absurd to be fiction – and too true to be ignored.
When not writing, M. R. Malkki may be seen scribbling margins, avoiding meetings or suspiciously eyeing public development projects.
